Artist Trading Cards: Ink

Artist Trading Cards: Ink
Portable, tradeable, miniature works of art
I first learned about artist trading cards from a visit to the bookstore Ex Libris, which served the needs of the students attending the Savannah College of Art and Design. I didn't start using them until our local arts and crafts supply store began stocking them. My first ATCs were done on oatmeal cards, and featured ink drawings of one of my personal mascots, Leta the Sea Dragon.

Some of my art cards are simply drawn in ink pen, with no coloring or shading except for hatching or crosshatching done with the ink. This is my preferred medium for when I have a small window of time to work on art cards, or if I am working on an art card as an immediate favor to someone.

I enjoy using art cards because they provide an easy means of sharing handmade artwork, especially since they can be traded, stored, and displayed like collectible trading cards.
