As a Web and App Design and Development Agency (as of recently also offering Graphic-design and Illustrations) which values the ideals of open source and the sharing of ideas in general, ZLOSCH naturally likes to share their ideas with others.

To visually support the content of their posts and to increase shareability ZLOSCH decided, having an Illustrator on the team, to create custom made Illustrations for them.

Considering limited time and budget, certain specifications had to be met:
Speed: As time is always a valuable and commonly a limited good, the Illustrations had to be finished quickly and efficiently.
Clarity: The topic of the post should be easily identified by interested readers.
Shareability: Optimization for social media is, of course, a must.
Thus I developed a workflow optimized for speed and simplicity, enabling me to create an illustration in two to five hours.
The Brief: 10-20 minutes
The author briefly explains what the post is about and, if he/ she has any, suggests ideas for basic motifs.
Sketching: ½-1 hour
I then develop some ideas, create a couple of rough sketches and we agree on one of them.

Using simple forms, bold colors and a thirds grid I can easily and quickly create impactful Illustrations.

From the beginning of the process I use a template that indicates the various save zones of social media platforms, so the optimization consists mainly of copying the illustration into social media image templates in Photoshop and rendering them as png.
