Handset Manufacturer - Component Library

Component library
A component library created for one of the largest mobile device manufacturers
One of the largest mobile device manufacturers was looking to update their component library to ensure that interactions were compelling and intuitive across a variety of devices.

Rosa worked with a London agency to create a  library for each of the basic components. Many of those components had several variations that were tailored to work with specific device hardware capabilities such as capacitive or resistive touch screens. We looked at components such as drop-down menus, buttons, radio groups, sliders etc.

As a first step, Rosa looked at human interface design principles and guidelines across different operating systems from iOS to Android to Blackberry OS. Rosa also looked at different UIs and mobile frameworks (Sencha, jQuery Mobile).

Based on the information she collected for each component across different device types and mobile frameworks, she proceeded to describe key properties for each component that were subject to device type variations.
Rosa also looked at iPad and tablet interactions as part of the project.
