Fiesta San Antonio started in 1891 as a parade to commemorate the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto. As time went on, more events were added to the festivities such as balls, parties, and a carnival. It has evolved into one of the United State's premier festivals with an economic impact of more than $284 million for the city of San Antonio. The funds raised by official Fiesta events provide services to San Antonio non-profits and citizens throughout the year. Fiesta is held annually during 11 days near the end of April. Over 100 events take place all over the city during this time period. In 2016 Fiesta San Antonio celebrated their 125th Anniversary. Fiesta has grown into a celebration of San Antonio’s rich and diverse cultures.

The old Fiesta logo was not used in a consistent manner throughout communication pieces. The Fiesta Commission contacted Mercury Mambo to develop a logo that celebrates their 125th Anniversary. The essence of the logo is to communicate tradition in a modern style.
