World War I Recruitment Piece
A piece inspired by 1930's German artists
This piece was inspired by a project I had undertaken while studying graphic design history at the Art Institute in Sacramento, California. The project was driven by my liking for German graphic design produced in the last 1920's to late 1930's. The "floating" graphic element over a background of color was very appealing. For one, it gave emphasis to the elements resting on the solid color, but furthermore, it allowed the viewer to interact with those elements and fill the blank space with their own imagination, thus driving viewer interaction.

As a graphic designer I strive to produce work that not only communicates to the viewer, but encourages their interaction. Simply put - it builds attachment. It makes the piece their own and yours. And that is great art and design.
