The Washington Athletic Club held a gala to formally present the inaugural MA Sorensen and Rudy Scholz Collegiate Rugby Player of the Year awards on Saturday, June 11. The Rudy Scholz Award is given to the most deserving U.S. college rugby player in men’s Division 1 and the Maryanne (MA) Sorensen Award is given to the best U.S. college rugby player in women’s Division I. The award was created by the WAC in conjunction with the Goff Rugby Report to honor the top collegiate rugby players in the country for their dedication to a sport that is continuing to rise in popularity in the United States.
I was tasked with designing all event collateral including programs, name cards, banners, and slideshow. I was responsible for designing, printing, and production of name cards and over 150 finished programs to the Athletic Director with a narrow timeline and strict deadline. This event won the 2016 North American Association of Club Athletic Directors “Athletic Event of the Year” Award for its innovative concept and outstanding execution.
