The Concept
When Vienna Tourist board was making their 2016-edition of Vienna Journal, we were asked to create the digital interpretation of the magazine for all handheld devices.
Vienna Journal is a tourist magazine, with a vast amount of photographic material, maps and travel tips. Additionally we wanted to connect the digital magazine to even more interactive content such as 360 degree photos, video and audio.
To be able to present all this content in a solution that was going to look as good on a small mobile phone screen as well as on a desktop computer, we had to create a few strict guidelines.
We divided the content into three layers: Background layer for big full size photos, the content layer for the texts, and the enrichment layer for all supplementary information relevant for each article.
The app was mainly made for iOS and Android devices, but is also available in a light version here.
