Poster created to advertise a design competition hosted by the Tokyo Type Director's Club
The strong look of Futura was offset by the thin, delicate lines representing a skyline. At first glance, the viewer's eyes are initially drawn to the name of the organization, Tokyo TDC, who is hosting the competition. As the T's extend down, the eyes follow the lines to the secondary set of information regarding the purpose of the poster and the deadline for entries. Finally, once the viewer's eyes reach the end of the lines, they focus in on the details. This includes the categories of the design competition as well as a website where they could go to obtain additional information about the event.
