Aural Visualizations

Aural Visualizations began as a project for my Sound Art course in my senior year of college. The idea behind is to generate a sensory experience with both sound and visual elements, while avoiding the tendency for the visual to overtake the aural. To accomplish this, I recorded a plethora of sound samples, and created simple animations in After Effects that inform the nature of those sounds, granting them a purpose and a new contextual space in which to operate.
Additionally, this project served as a gateway into the field of motion graphics. Though simplistic, these animations well acquainted me with After Effects and generated interest in pursuing further projects in the field.
