My Contribution
Designed icons that would easily be identified increase the public's knowledge and attitudes towards recycling.
Conducted market research to explore strengths and weaknesses of current products in the market.
Collaborated with team in building and testing rapid prototypes, A/B testing for icons and storyboarding.
Challenge
Devote 9 weeks to creating a digital artifact that helps solve a real world problem.
We decided to focus on the garbage reduction after discovering studies that reported Canada as the number one producer of waste per capita.

Solution
A site specific installation that helps people sort their trash with the click of a button. Through surveys, rapid prototypes and a partnership with the industry experts at Recycling Alternative, the team was able to develop a well researched prototype that focused on ease of use, time of interaction and segregation accuracy.

Results
The prototype was tested with +200 people with over 90% sorting accuracy, as per the BETA test.
