Web Design Projects

Websites that I've designed, in order from newest to oldest.

With my background in minor front-end development and my constant self-education on ongoing web trends, I'm able to more easily plan my designs with the code in mind. I work closely with a developer to make sure that my ideas are able to be successfully translated responsively, often sitting with them to give direction on responsiveness and the user interface. My print background allows me to create innovative designs, while my programming background allows those designs to transition smoothly to the web.

I also tend to edit client content for search engine optimization, to ensure their site starts off on the right foot.
Copywriting, design support (for template development in conjunction with my coworker and managing typography site-wide and designing the user interface) along with development support for Longmeadow Family Dental Care, as part of the team at Icon Graphics. See it live!
Web design and development support as part of the team at Icon Graphics for Mister Sparky, American’s On-Time Electrician, in Aberdeen, Maryland. See it live!
Web design for Cobblestone Estates as part of the team at Icon Graphics. See it live!
Web design and development support as part of the team at Icon Graphics for Cortland Villas, based on its parent, David Lyles Developers (which I also designed and supported web development: see below). See it live!
The team at Icon Graphics was tasked with redesigning the David Lyles Developers site back in 2014. We wanted to emphasize our client’s work through the beautiful photography of Lesley Gourley. In 2016, we refreshed the design to help streamline the header and give a more unified experience. Visit the site!
Website design for The Bloedorn Foundation, as part of the team at Icon Graphics. See it live!
Website design and development support for One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning in Aberdeen, Maryland. See it live!
This was created as part of the team at Icon Graphics. I created the design and my coworker developed it and married it to WordPress with my support and guidance. We worked really hard to keep the site as clean, simple, and friendly as possible. We organized the content under three main categories for ease of navigation. See it for yourself!
Responsive web design for C. Basil Grossnickle Insurance, as part of the team at Icon Graphics. I also created a comprehensive CMS walkthrough guide and assisted in overseeing my coworker’s programming and design implementation. See it live!
The team at Icon Graphics was tasked with designing a simple menu site for local restaurant Pollo Loco, for whom I also created their logo through custom illustration and lettering. I was responsible for the design of the site, which I matched to the existing menu design I collaborated with a coworker to create. Visit the site!
No longer live web and logo design for an IFPO authorized distributor, as part of the team at Icon Graphics. Since IFPO is for photographers, we thought it would be a nice easter egg to allow the users to “adjust the exposure” of the site, as demonstrated in this animation.
The team at Icon Graphics was tasked with redesigning the Augustoberfest site. I tried to pull in lots of German influence into the design while keeping it clean and open. Visit the site!
In 2014, the brochure for the annual Washington County Museum Ramble got a redesign, so I designed the site to match and developed it with the help of my coworker, who made the design responsive. This project was completed as part of the team at Icon Graphics. View the site!
I created the design for Conservit as part of the team at Icon Graphics. After looking at the stats for the site, we realized that fully half of Conservit’s visitors were using mobile devices, and their previous site had been designed before advent of the mobile web. This was the first responsive web design we created and implemented fully. My coworker took care of the front-end and back-end development. View the site!
The Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau & the Washington County GIS office approached the team at Icon Graphics to take Bonn A. Poland IV’s fantastic comprehensive GIS maps of the Potomac River and create both a print and an online atlas. My coworker took care of the print Potomac River Atlas, and I designed and developed the website. View it here!
