Local Flavor provides shoppers, markets, and vendors an outlet to invest in their community, promote proper nutrition and sustain local agriculture. The main component for the website is the opportunity for vendors to create and develop a brand identity for themselves in, The Vendor's Studio. Here, vendors can upload their own logos and apply them to template designs for price cards or brochures. Vendors can also apply for food certifications including vegan, gluten free or organic labeling as well as create their own QR codes to use throughout the season. The templates are in fillable PDF form so vendors can download them to their own computer and print from the convenience of their home.
Further, the website offers markets and vendors the opportunity to create individual profiles to market themselves. With internal competition amongst vendors today it is important they stay competitive. Also, a set of six logos can be used by markets and vendors to clarify what it is they do or don't offer. This allows shoppers to search for markets or vendors that best fit what they want through the, Market Finder. The concept could further support sections for shoppers to learn including an About Your Food or News & Lifestyle section.
