We define the space as an extent in which symbols of humanity reside.

A place is conceived when the space becomes domesticated, filled with recognisable notions and objects. The feeling of familiarity and identification - the essence of homeliness - emerges through instinctively readable architectural forms.

In our project, the elemental shapes create a spatially and semantically universal house. These elements are highly evocative and symbolic, therefore they do not need an explanation. The house we designed has a clear potential to become a home, a place, regardless of it’s surroundings and programme. By relating to geometry the inhabitants will inevitably recognise the space - subconsciously and intuitively.

Once the programme is added and the space is understood consciously, the place will be created. A defined site can extend the boundaries and qualities of the existing place. The physical and immaterial context will merge with the initial system of assumptions, thus enriching it.
