Brick Wall - Fashion Label Project

For our major project in the last semester of fourth year (Waterford Institute of Technology), we worked along side John Gavin (Design Consultant) of True Output, Waterford. He created 5 briefs with our lecturers, from which we chose one that we prefered. From these briefs, we created a brand/visual identity for a ficticious company that would be ready for commercial use. Out of the 5 briefs, I chose the fashion label project.

This is the brief for the project I had chosen.
Creating notes on how to appraoach the brief, which includes reoccuring trends in fashion, research & origin of the labels name.
"I've hit a brick wall in my research"
Researching alternative/rock genre logos.
The early stages of the logo.
Capturing the aesthetic.
Collected images of what direction I want the brand to go in.
I used locations in Waterford City as backdrops in my photoshoot. By taking advantage of local amenities, such as the Waterford Walls. I was able to able to have various colours, contrasts and textures in my images. By use of a map of the area, I was able to pin point what places suited best for the fashion label.

*Waterford Walls is fantastic initiative where derelict buildings in Waterford City were transformed with beautiful pieces of art by renowned International, National and Local artists.
Test print of some of the images to help with the editing process.
The final logo.
