Dys/Utopia - Urban Projection Installation

Inspired by Italo Calvino's Invisible Cities and Constant Nieuwenhuys' New Babylon, Dys/utopia is an Urban Projection installation that took place in The Espaces Abraxas at Noisy-le-Grand near Paris. Using Processing, I coded architectural structures that free floated and builds in small fissures and cracks in the city structures. The holes and cracks in building facades serveas a viewfinder into different hidden cities within a city. The place might be imaginary or distorted with the goal of having people who randomly encounter these cities to decide if they found an utopia or a dystopia. It invites them to reflect upon the current society they live in. If the positions were reversed and someone looked into our society through a lens, would they think we were an utopia or a dystopia?
