Microsite: Sahel - Humanitarian Action Needed in 2015
February 2015: Stretching across the southern fringe of the Sahara desert, the Sahel is one of the harshest environments in the world. Some 145 million people in nine countries live in a region that is constantly challenged by chronic food and malnutrition crises. The plight of the affected communities is exacerbated by the impact of climate change, recurrent natural disasters and brutal armed conflicts and violence. The microsite was launched for the Sahel 2015 humanitarian funding appeal.
