Super Cocina: Comida Casera Mexicana is a family-owned restaurant in the heart of City Heights. Unlike many taco shops and other fast food restaurants, they specialize in slow, authentic, home-style Mexican cooking, in which they use high quality ingredients. Their food centers on comfort, patience, authenticity, and rich flavors. They invite people from all backgrounds to enjoy their food. Super Cocina is a humble establishment with a strong foundation and a dedication to authentic Mexican food that help set them apart from the rest.
In 2015, the restaurant started exploring ways of expanding and growing their business. As a result, Johnny Villamar and Itzel Ortuño developed a new logo and branding system. The updated identity is then expanded across a wide range of applications.

Super Cocina is highly involved in the community of City Heights and has been named one of San Diego’s Best Restaurants by the San Diego Reader. Their involvement in the community includes charity work and collaboration with Deco-bike, City of Citrus Heights Community and Economic Development Department, ALC, BET, Bikes Del Pueblo, and Environmental Health Coalition in the "City Heights Community Bike Ride, amongst other events.
