Victoria Noureddine Arden's profile

Visual narrative project. Process book.

The aim of the project was to create a visual narrative from randomly taken photographs and to develop a visual language by defining the audience and the message are intended to communicate. The photographs were taken within one mile radius of my home, documenting the following: three people, three objects and three environments.

The  book was created with the intent of providing an introduction to step by step process of the design progression which led to a final design outcome. The first part of the book illustrates the exploration of the sequential visual narratives as a form of storytelling, the understanding how meaning is formed, the relationship between word and image, and the generation of meaning in visual communication. The second part of the book illustrates a visual documentation of workshops outcomes.
Final design outcome of the project is printed on A1 semi-gloss 250 gr paper. Visual narrative is structured in non-linear sequence with combination of images, words and colored shapes. It was important to bare in mind the message that is being transmitted, who the message is aimed at, its intentioj and the audience. The final work communicates an idea of travel exploration for young adults with the use of relevant visual language, design layout and relevant type. The applied red shapes and words are enhancing the idea of exploration.
