Evanescent is a unique concept exhibition that showcases six different exhibits based on associations inspired by colours and the psychological theories related to them.

Each room in the exhibition has been created by an individual artist. Their work naturally appeals to and harnesses the effects of these environments to bring positive mood changes. In an atmosphere designed to stimulate the five senses, visitors can experience and interact with colours dynamically. The exhibits include interactive spaces, photography, 3D modelling, prints and installations arranged in a non linear way. Visitors are invited to navigate their own way around.

My exhibit is “The Green Room” which can be found here.
As a team the first phase of designing the museum was to research a theme for the exhibition around which the 6 associations (one for each team member) will be designed. We chose "colors psychology" as the topic. Evanescent would be the name of the exhibition.

The Evanescent building

The exhibition structure is based on the Rose of Temperaments designed by Goethe and Schiller in 1798. This diagram matches twelve colours to human characteristics and moods. As Evanescent is directly linked to colours and feelings the artists found in the Rose of Temperaments a fitting starting point to build the exhibition from.
In order to have a more sophisticated and modern space, a hexagonal shape has been used instead of a circle. Here you can find some of the sketches of the artists to have a full insight of how the environment has been thought.

During the exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to choose their own way of navigation throughout the building. It allows the public to make its own conclusion and feel different emotions that will change in each room. Every space has been designed with a specific purpose and the interaction within the five human senses will make the journey being fun and interesting at the same time.
The structure

As mentioned above, the plan of the exhibition was inspired by the Rose of Temperaments by Goethe and Schiller. After several sketches I started to draw the map using AutoCAD to better understand measurements, the area of both common spaces and the singular rooms. Beside the map, I produced a front elevation and a closed up of a room.

The AutoCAD file was then imported to CINEMA 4D where the building came to life. The 6 meter long exterior walls are covered with mirror panels which merge the shape of the building with the surrounding environment by reflecting it. The name Evanescent also reflects this particular characteristic.
