This brief expected us to design a collaboration event and opening art exhibition at the Swatch Art Peace hotel. The meaning of a ‘swatch’ is a sample or test colour. The colour swatch palettes used in modern design software somewhat resemble pixels. Pixels are literally individual blocks of colour which build up an image. Using the analogy of ‘Tetris’ as a contextual influence, I called my campaign ‘Bauen.’ In German, which is spoken in Switzerland; the home of Swatch - Bauen means construct or to build.
Interactive event invitation
The person will receive a draw string bag full of wooden blocks. A side of each block has event information on it,
the other side has a cropped element of a resident artist’s work on it. The idea is to build up the invite.
