Sensible Seafood Fest 2016

Sensible Seafood Fest
The Fest is an annual event hosted by the Virginia Aquarium. It features samples of sustainable seafood options crafted by talented local chefs. It's a time for seafood lovers to come together to support a mission of ocean friendly seafood. After last year's fresh new design was unveiled, the goal this year was to set the bar even higher.

SSF 2016
It's amazing what a team can put together when they take full advantage of their resources. Last year's Sensible Seafood Fest winner crafted beautifully plated dishes for me to photograph for this year's promotional poster. Chef Jason Congleton played a major role in helping step up this year's advertisement.
Of cource, the iconic gingham pattern and worn wood made an appearance again this year. After I contrusted a wood palette, I laid the food out and added accents of lemon, basil, oyster shells, and shirmp. After photographing the food in several differnet layouts, I went to work in Indesign setting the type.

Handouts
This year Sensible Seafood was celebrated for an entire week. With the Fest being the focus, it was important to promote the main event but to also let seafood lovers know there were other events they could attend to support the mission of ocean friendly seafood.

Tasting Card
With more than 20 restaurants and plates to sample, a tasting card was created to help guests keep track of the cusine they preferred. This helped with decision making when it came time to vote. Adding the tickets to the tasting card made the user experience much nicer since there were fewer items to carry.
