The Western (traditionally animated short)

The Western

This is a collaborative project between myself and Erin Conley based off of a story of ours.  The finished product was to  be an animated short depicting a small sample of that story, of how a thief meets more than her match in the form of a mysterious newcomer, setting in motion a strange turn of events.  I wanted to play with the idea of silent film, pushing a story through acting and body language alone, as well as experimenting with media - in this case, pencil on tracing paper.  We developed the story and shot references together, Erin created Virgil, and I created Ruth.  I streamlined their designs, and did the animation, while Erin edited and advised.  Currently it does not look like we'll be finishing the project, though I would like to post some of the finished animations in the near future.
