Academy of Political Management

Academy of Political Management
Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and Political Parties (PPs) have been very active in the Philippine political landscape for quite a long time already. They play an important role in the promotion of people's rights and welfare, serving as the voice of the poor and the marginalized. Their strength is undeniable, but they need to face issues of fragmentation and sustainability, which threaten their reach for the coming decades.

In particular, the next-generation leaders need to be equipped with the right training and preparation. Such is the reason for existence of the Academy of Political Management. During their time in the Academy, young leaders are expected to build their capacities, and enhance their leadership and management skills.

Commissioned by the German political NGO, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, here is a glimpse of the design process for the branding and identity of the Academy of Political Management.
Rough Drafts: Initial Sketches
Playing with possible designs - from sketchpad to computer.Given the design brief, themes revolved around the idea of progression, convergence, and sustainability.
After many consultations with the organization, we arrived at the top-left design for APM's logo, of which sustainability, progression and stability are the key concepts. Variations on the same floating circle design were also presented.
Specifications for the APM logo. Colors are the same as the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung logo. "For" changed to "of".
