Manhattan
Based on a sketch of the calligraphy Copperplate, I
developed this lettering design. The word Manhattan
is not made for the city but for the drink. This
cocktail was created in 1874 in the Club Manhattan
in New York City. It’s ingredients are whiskey or
bourbon, vermouth rosso, bitter and cherry.
I scanned the calligraphy sketch and later drew
on the new lettering design by hand. Afterwards I
digitalized it in Fontlab and I created a simple poster.
