College project.
Our task was to create a series of adverts or posters which convey a message in either an implicit or explicit way. We had a choice between designing a new brand of trainer or a guerilla advertising campaign. I decided on the trainer. It could be for male or female and the target audience was:
Teenagers to mid-twenties
Outgoing and enjoy life
Aware of fashion trends
Live life to the full
Enjoy music and sport
Explicit Design.
I thought a really good idea for a trainer would be to incorporate the upcoming film Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. It was the thought of using DC trainers that made me come up with the idea, as the film is based on characters from (a different) DC Comics. The Superman and Batman designs were taking from wallpapers found online. The typeface used is "Tank". I used this as l felt it looked quite comic like. I used the title "Pick a Side" to tie in with the whole verses theme and from an advertising angle, the word "pick" would make the consumer pick one, if not both pairs.
Implicit Design.
Here, l used some comic based images taken from online and merged them with the trainers. I used the poster edges filter in Photoshop to make them look comic based too. Both of these posters are meant to imply that the trainers will make you feel like a super hero, super for Superman and vigilant for Batman (being a vigilante). The bold colours draw you in, and then you notice the trainers.
