Creative Packaging

College project.
We were asked to pick between 1 and 3 artists and design some creative packaging as a gift for a fictitious exhibition. These would be handed out to guests on entry. I chose the artist Warped Rabbit (myself), who uses fuse beads to replicate computer game characters, particularly from 8bit and 16bit consoles. Examples would be Super Mario, Sonic The Hedgehog etc. (included below).
My final idea for the packaging was to create a rabbit hole. I didn't think a cardboard box would be strong enough once the artificial grass was added, so went for a wooden box. The top of the box was sprayed black to give the illusion of a hole, with a wooden sign made and painted. I thought the 'wonderland?' message related well to the rabbit hole, relating obviously to Alice in Wonderland, but also The Matrix and the name of the artist. I feel it adds a layer of mystery to what lies inside...
Inside is a bunny chocolate, a rabbit keyring (made from the fuse beads), a carrot magnet, which is actually from the Super Mario Land 2 game on the Gameboy. I added colours as the game is black and white. A mini card with details on the back, designed on Moo.com and a small description of the artist made into a little scroll.
What the scroll reads.

A mock up poster advertising the fictitious exhibition. I used the same typeface that was supplied on Moo.com, which was 'Notu'. I called the exhibition 'The Rab-bit patch Exhibition, with emphasis on the 'bit', as the characters are made up of bits.
