From 2000 to 2015 the Canadian federal government took a net, that’s a net, total of $205 billion from Alberta -or more than $51,250 from every man, woman, and child in Alberta.

Note 1: Numbers do not always subtract across precisely because of rounding.
Note 2: It is virtually certain that Alberta continued to contribute at or above the twelve year average of 13.7 billion dollars annually in each of the three fiscal years 2012, 2013, and 2014, exceeding 41.1 billion dollars for the three years combined. This would mean that Alberta’s net contribution exceeded $205 billion during the period April 1, 2000 to March 31, 2015.
