Project Brief: Design a "flat-pack" wearable object that can be manufactured by laser cutter. (Minimum of 10 pieces)

I chose to design a pair of biodegradable sunglasses, as sustainability has always been an intriguing aspect of design to me.
The woodü glasses are made from Birch veneer, acrylic and plywood.
_
The frame itself consists of 3 layers of wood: a central core made of ply that the lenses rest in, and two wood veneer "stickers" that stick on the inner and outer face of the frames to keep the lenses in place.

(Above) - On the left are my sketches experimenting with different frame and arm shapes, testing a variety of styles. On the right is the layout that was sent to the Epilog Laser cutter for cutting. I had to develop a hinging mechanism that could be cut on the Epilog Laser.
(Below) - Shown here are two card stock iterations of the many sketch models I created.

The Frame is made from high-quality, and naturally biodegradable, Birch veneer to provide a light feel and stylish look that will age nicely over time.
