Project Brief: The object is to design and construct products that dispense spices in representational form. The spice set must be visually represented as a pair or group.

The LOOP shakers draw their inspiration from a variety of fine architecture and modern goods.

My models included a variety of different form testing. Initially, I explored asymmetrical shapes and mismatched forms, however ended with two identical shapes to further solidify the two as a cohesive set .

The LOOP shakers were crafted using a dense Brazilian hardwood called "Ipe". Laser cut acrylic circles were pressure-fitted into the void without the use of messy adhesives. The bases are fitted with two small Rare Earth Magnets, which hold the shakers tangent to the base's surface, giving off the appearance that they are resting in a perfectly balanced position.
