“Have a Red/Blue Day” is an ancient greeting from the plains people, which means, “Have a Sacred Day”. It came from the understanding that all life is sacred. Blue is the colour of sea and sky and Red symbolizes earth. My original intent was not to create a red/blue painting, but as I worked, I realized I was painting a blessing…a prayer for the souls of women caught in the turmoil of the wars of men. ~ Kathryn Kaiser, Feb. 2014
