These illustrations were created in the special collections of Harvard University's Museum of Comparative Zoology and Naturkundemuseum, Berlin's vast zoological museum and research institute for bio-diversity. Vladimir Nabokov's butterfly collection at Harvard was also a reference for some of the life drawings. Nabokov was both author and Director of Lepidopterology at Harvard in the early 1940s. The illustrations were created for Moth Possible, an Art + Science installation of 33 large scale graphic prints at the Freie Universität Berlin. Please see the Moth Possible project on this site for installation images.
