Gordon's Kitchen is a prospective children's television programme which teaches young people about the value and growing your own food and the importance of not wasting. Below is the pitch bible for Gordon's Kitchen, which outlines the premise of the show, character designs and backgrounds.
During this project I was responsible for character design, creating model sheets and intial designs for backgrounds. Underneath the pitch bible are samples of my sketchbook work to see my creative process.
As you can see above, there was a lot of experimentation with expressions, both facially and full body. As our character was quite rigid as though he was made of paper, I had to tailor the expressions so that they were believable. I also found it challenging to try and depict Gordon from different angles in the turn around sheet. As he is a very 2D character it took a lot of trial and error to capture Gordon from the side and a 3/4 view.
