Undestanding the problems and concerns of children in crèches.
Increasingly, parents in urban India are finding it difficult to stay at home to look after their kids. As a result of their fast-paced and competitive lifestyles, they resort to either hiring a maid, leaving the kid(s) with grandparents or enlisting their child in a crèche.
Visiting a few of crèches around the city, observing the children, interacting with them, their parents and the crèche caretakers helped us understand the ecosystem of the creche going children and identify problems which they might be facing.
We noticed that due to differences in age, gender and native culture, children in creches interact with each other in a limited and controlled manner.
The challenge was to come up with a solution which could enhance the interactivity between children.
