Artwork for Construction Fence
In place 2004-2005

Art Fence in place for duration of construction. The colors were chosen to work with the surrounding architecture.
The new Library was built in the middle of the campus, and the construction fence would be a part of academic life for over 2 years. I worked with design professor and his printmaking class to design artwork that could be replicated on the 340 plywood panels that made up the fence. 3 design teams competed, the winning design was completed by the entire class.

We initially tried silkscreening in place, but it was time consuming, and the paint dired too quickly in the dry heat.

The contractor brought all the panels to the studio. They were numbered and printed in 3 colors.
