The following is the landing page for the site San Francisco New Contemporary Art. This example is from the high fidelity interactive mockup used for user testing.
Content
The idea and content for the site was well received. People immediately saw the purpose of the site as listing for art galleries that were unique in the amenities they offered.
Typeface
Users saw the decorative type for "SFNCA" as having a strong association with heavy metal and noted a lack of legibility. The type was changed to improve upon user satisfaction, see Behance section "UX Design - SFAVC Website - Beta Test Version."
An image carousel was used as the main form of navigation. However, users saw the carousel as having examples for a specific gallery, rather than a form of moving from one section to another in the site.
People requested a familiar design pattern for navigation and were not in favor of trying to create a call to action for the images indicating navigation.
The lack of visual hierarchy in the body copy had viewers seeing the text as a lump of words, especially a section with a paragraph. People wanted specific details with topographic nuance.
A one page designed website was decided to pursue in order to implement simple and straight forward information.
