VOA International Branding & Promotion

International branding and environmental display projects for use worldwide in the Voice of America’s global initiatives. These assorted projects entailed working with translators and overseas partners to ensure project success. A significant portion of the initiative involved extending VOA’s branding and identity refresh across their entire portfolio of products.
Billboard display art and coordinated print advertisement artwork for VOA’s Pashto service. Due to remote production, careful attention was given to specifications and final artwork that was transmitted to Pakistan.
Outdoor signage for new VOA programming in Central Africa. In light of political concerns, multiple versions were created, some featuring VOA personalities already well established in the area, and others not, depending on placement. Due to geographical distances between VOA’s headquarters in Washington and final production and distribution on Central Africa, careful attention was given to final artwork, as well as specifications. For this reason, custom mocks (to scale) were created and sent with the final artwork to ensure success.
For promotion of VOA’s Hausa radio service, custom in-house studio photography was combined with the new corporate branding, as well as custom sub-branding, to enable affiliates to better promote VOA programming in their respective markets.
Branding and promotional materials for a proposed Hausa language radio service. Symbols and motifs are derived from traditional Nigerian culture. Logotype lockups show usage for various color and background applications, and depicted radio personalities made use of custom studio photography done in-house.
Due to bandwidth limitations in many parts of the developing world, promotional programming materials are still distributed via disks. Here, multilingual branding is shown, both in generic versions, and in one variant featuring VOA program personalities.
As part of the corporate rebranding, all logos for international services needed updates to the new colors and specifications. Here, the Bangla service identity lockups are shown, both in positive and negative versions. Shown here are the print versions. The variants were also optimized for broadcast, Web, spot colors, and general printing as well.
Thai service identity, positive and negative versions. Shown here are the print versions. The variants were also optimized for broadcast, Web, spot colors, and general printing as well.
