Ragtrade bucks the trend with a makeover of last season’s website

With an 18-year career involving fashion buying, TV & magazine shoots, fashion shows and style editorials for fashion magazines and more, Johanna Bolhoven came to us with a site that had an unclear layout and was not a true reflection of her experience within her industry. Together we designed and built a contemporary site where her services could centralise cleanly, delivering a strong website that was reminiscent of premium brand sites, perfectly suited to her consumer demographic. With this in mind, functionality was of great importance; for optimum user experience and a luxury feel a flowing and pleasurable customer journey was built into the design.

Utilising our experience within the fashion industry, we created a concept around true fashion, avoiding ‘fads’ and creating a timeless, elegant feel which translated into the full branding exercise. Ragtrade’s discipline, fashion, was anchored firmly within the new branding, with a needle being the understated but powerful focal point of the logo itself. Web banners were designed using images selected in a forecasting session to ensure trend-inspired pieces for the coming season were an immediate taster of the site and its founder’s expertise. Having a personal touch is of great importance to Johanna, as her profession by nature relies on personality, it was this personal touch that inspired the hand-sketched drawings of her 2015 Christmas cards - each one featuring a sophisticated and glamorous image, subtly sparkling and ready for the season.
