'diverging'

Given the word “Routes”, I automatically thought of my favourite poem, “The Road not Taken” by Robert Frost. Here Frost describes the life choices in any individual’s life, and how way leads onto way. One cannot go back to view the outcomes of the routes you didn’t choose.

My artwork – Diverging - is a universal visual interpretation of any individual’s life choices and the routes they took. The hands are metaphors for the constant choices one face in life. I chose hands because they are primarily used as our own direction indicators. These hands and fingers are constantly changing and diverging into new routes and new choices – ultimately showing how way leads onto way.
