PINE CONE IV

This is a charming combination of pen and ink drawing and watercolour painting. With pen and ink it's possible to draw all the intricate details. Colour adds a new dimension and since watercolour is transparent, you can still see drawn details.

In this drawing/painting I was primarily inspired with the play of light and shadow.

Shedding and trunk with the focus on short and sharp autumn light and deep shades.

I was inspired by the sharp light and shadow, which made image very fragmented, on the first sight even almost abstract.
