This book is a new edition of 12 folk polish carols known over 100 years ago. Lyrics was chosen from edition out in 1917. The project was aim raising awareness about old, folk, polish Christmas tradition, using modern knowledge about editorial design. My inspiration I found in medieval sacred art and polish folk culture at 20's XX century. Important aspect was commercialization of Christmas tradition and increasing a manufacture low-quality products connected with celebration this special period in a year.

Every composition was pictured by visual graphic. I created 13 illustrations, two by linocutting, other by fountain pen. Most designs based on repeat motif and has abstract style. Whole book was printing in black, on 4 kind of papers.Different colours of sheets refer to symbolic meaning hues in medieval art e.g. silver symbolize sacrum area, blue - medieval pigment "Lapis lazuli" using in manuscripts, yellow - happiness.

This project was out in 4 copies, in size 120 x 170 mm. Edition was hand-bindind and digital printing on 64 pages. Every copy including music notation and linocutting print on the back cover. Wooden packaging with felt mark, accentuate simple and elegant form.
