Activity 2 - Pixel Art
Pixel Penguin
During this whole activity, I noticed that pixel art wasn't my strong point. The whole time while I was making the pieces, I kept struggling with the restrictions that the pixels came with, I had to adjust the way I usually like to draw, which is a lot of detail, a lot of small detail, but with the pixels you had to lessen the details but still be able to keep the piece looking nice. For this piece, The Pixel Penguin, I was just looking at baby penguins for reference, and I noticed that all of the baby penguins kept tilting their heads, and it reminded me of a monster from a game that had a hat on it, and I just decided to add a hat to my penguin also. I was thinking of a hat to choose, and since a penguin is in the snow, I thought of Christmas, which lead me to add a santa hat to my penguin. This is probably my favourite piece of out of the three pieces.
Pixel Fremy
This piece was made after the Pixel Penguin, and I was just exhausted from making the penguin, and I couldn't think of anything to draw. So I decided to take one of my drawings that I had and just use that as my next pixel art piece. I feel like I started getting used to the pixel art kind of style and lessened the details in shadings and just kept it really simple. I added some shading just to add a somewhat 3D feel to it instead of a plain flat image.
Pixel Dino
This is my last pixel art piece, and probably the best in terms of the pixel art style. I got really used to the pixel style after the third try. For this piece I just looked at Charmander from Pokemon and searched up cartoon dinosaurs on google for reference. It was a really fun piece of create, for the colouring I kept it nice and simple but still adding the shading and even some highlights to give that 3D effect.

2D Vector Background for Hokkaido Forest Mountain Shrine
I created this background keeping in mind that the audience that I wanted to interest were people that are into a simplistic and 3D style of art and also being quite cartoony. As for the mood/theme of the background, I would consider it being more of a thriller kind of background that has its own beauty. The reason why I chose such a cold colour for the mountains and ground, a bland blue was to enhance the feeling of loneliness and having a chilling effect. Also, scattered around and near the edges of the mountains are the ruins of meeting places of ancient Hokkaido residences. The sky has multiple colours that represents that the sun is setting and the darkness settling in. The orange that can be barely seen behind the mountains is the sun that is setting, and the blue, purple, and black colours is the darkness that is about to settling. For the shadowing, I kept it simple, and to an angle where it would make the most sense, keeping it nice and spooky. The trees and weird shapes along with it is where the danger lies, the creatures hiding behind the tall and creepy bushes and trees. The wooden structures and the rocky road is the path Amira must take to make it safely back home, but will she able to get there unscathed not knowing what is behind those bushes? She will have to be crafty and find places to hide, such as the big boulders near the road, but she must get there before the night falls.

-Rose and her "families" goal is to take over the region which they live in, and rebuild it to it's former glory
-Wonders where her old family is, and whether or not to take revenge on them, or to forgive them.
Bio
This character is meant to be in an adventure, action, drama type of Anime/Movie. Rose was born from a royal family, that once ruled the region of Araellia. From birth, to an early age, Rose was pampered with only the best, treated with the utmost delicacy, and most of all, loved from her parents with all their hearts. Once Rose turned to the tender age of 5 years old, the neighboring region took seige of Araellia and took Roses' parents as a public sacrifice. Roses' parents being the rulers of Araellia, knew that the seige was going to happen, and knew that they were going to lose their land, so they planned for the worst... to abandon Rose. Once Rose was sleeping, her parents brought her to a hidden shelter that only they knew about. Rose was woken up by a loud thunder, she then finds a note with writting that looked like it was written in a rush, it began by saying "To our most beloved Daughter, we first want to tell you that we love you so so much. Your mommy and daddy have to go on an important and dangerous trip, and we want you to be safe. We'll be back soon, okay? Don't go outside for a while, okay? We've prepared enough food, toys, clothes, and other things you'll need for several years, okay? Be safe... we lov-". The rest of the writting was smeered with what looked like tears that was dried up hours ago.
...Several years later...
Upon escaping the area in which the shelter was located in, Rose is filled with countless emotions, not knowing what to feel, was it freedom? sadness? anger? All of these overwhelming emotions coupled along with being outside for the first time in years, brought her to tears. While crying,a dog came to her side, and licked her hands. A few seconds later a young girl, dressed oddly appealing, with furs from a large cat, most likely from a lion came up to Rose. Upon acquainting with this oddly appealing girl and dog, shy at first, Rose began to become fond of them. The girl introduced herself as Naomi and the dog as Sparky, but has an accent so it sounds like Nyaomi. Several days of wandering around with her, she introduced them to a small group of young people, all uniquely dressed. Each of them knowing a style of martial arts, which they've integrated to make it their own special fighting style. Four in total, each of the young people taught Rose how to fight, and over time, she began to create her own fighting style, using what she learned from the young people; Later on, her fighting skills sharpen, and become one of the most efficient,powerful and beautiful fighting styles. After years of spending her time with Naomi, and the other three, they began calling each other brothers and sisters, and also noticed that Rose was now the most powerful of the group, and not only was she the most powerful, she was also the most passionate of the group; The group then decided that Rose should be the leader of the "family". While travelling, Rose and her "family" came across a dungeon, while searching through the dungeon, they come across a strange area, that was glowing a scarlet hue in the crystals, and in the center of the area, was a massive crystal; inside the massive crystal was a sword, which had the words "Scarlet Rose" engraved on the blade. Rose, so mesmerized by the crystal, walks up to it, and touches it, suddenly a scarlet light began to shine brightly and shatter seconds later. She now holds the sword in her hands, feeling as though it belonged to her the whole time. She now travels to train even more, and become stronger. Slowly meeting new, talented people that she can call a "family" member. She plans to take over the the throne of Araellia and bring the region back to its former glory.
