‘Smelly Memories’ is a Stop Motion Animation developed for a mobile point and click game; Directed by Mimi Fürst, as her graduation project for the Animation program at the Stockholm Dramatiska Högskola in Sweden.

It tells the story of Lena, an old robot lady, living in a studio apartment in Hässelby (a Stockholm suburb). On the day she celebrates her 115th birthday she’s being interviewed by a local newspaper and as that happens the player goes through her memories and is given the choice of changing some of Lena’s regrets.

I worked along side Mimi Fürst building puppets and designing the sets.

As my first experience with Stop Motion, it was a challenge to work with different materials and scales, but it was a great learning experience since I got to combine Art direction and model making skills for the final product.

Since early stages into production, the project has gained a lot of attention and recognition for it’s feminist content and innovative techniques applied into the production of the animation and the game developing.
