Corporate Identity: Forbis
Rebranding
2014
BRIEFING
A civil engineer asked me for a "facelift" of his company's logo.
Under the company name of Grupo Forbis, there are two different sectors of business, EngiForbis and HomeForbis, which needed to have an identity but still be related in the branding style.
They had tried asking a friend to redo the logo but weren't happy with the result.
What they wanted:
- Serious and Clean look
- Typography logo - to be adaptable for both sectors of the business
- Keep the company colours - Green and Grey
The evolution of the concept
Forbis is a Construction/Engineering company and they use CAD software to develop their projects.
I chose a sans-serif font as a representation of simple, clear lines.
The letter "O" was edited and became a symbol element on the type to represent the cursor on CAD software.
When simplified, it could also be interpreted as a Philipps Screw, which still followed the idea of a construction/engineering company.
In the end, the symbol was dropped and the new logo is just typography.
