NID's 35th Convocation

Category: Event design | Branding
Project Guide: Rupesh Vyas
In collaboration with: Tanvi Dua
Duration: 3 months
Convocation at NID is the most important event of the year for the institution group. Not only does it mark the passing of the students, but celebrates the successful unparalleled collaborative efforts of many stakeholders who made these fertile brains and bones into excelling designers who would help bring about positive change and impact in many lives.
Each year, this event invites the governing council & dignitaries, all the NID teachers & the director, graduating students & their parents, the administration & staff, to award the passing students with their degrees and get an insight of their work.
The designing for the convocation started with conceptualising the theme for the event and its visual identity. Accordingly, a visual strategy and initial budgeting for all the collaterals were devised.
The theme was conceptualised as “Weaving legacies of Change”.

The theme and the visual identity was inspired from “the sacred Big Tree” at the Gautam Gira Sarabhai square of NID, Ahmedabad, where the foundation stone of the institute was laid. The tree is a part of the NID's legacy and is symbolic of the change that all the people of the institute have created.
Other collaterals included invitation cards, banners and the Graduate show panels for which a detailed budgeting, paper and color selection and tendering were done before the final printing.
Pradyumna Vyas, Director, NID: “A new, much higher benchmark has been set for the Design for convocation this year. It brings me much joy that the convocation was so well thought of and articulated by these two students.”
