A Design challenge to come up with a Design Intervention in the locality the Institute was situated in. The proposal was to look into Garbage waste segregation by looking into the attitude and mapping the flow of garbage disposal starting from the institutional level. The charette comprised of an everyday challenge to go out and to research about various problems in the locality of which we have drawn one particular problem that of garbage waste segregation. This was a collaborative activity and the outcome of the two-week challenge was a mini golf game of educating people of various trash bins and their colour codes set according to the BBMP-a government organisation of Bangalore,India. An undercover video covering how students, the management and the faculty trash waste in different bins along with mapping of the trash bins within all the institutional spaces and the bigger picture through mapping and a stop motion video about the flow of trash.A portable trash for bags.

This is a collaborative project of seven members.

An undercover video made to map and research about people's knowledge and attitude to trash waste in a right manner. The video was a collaborative project along with another team member covering the cafetarias of the institution across two campuses-N3(Foundation campus),N5(Campus for Post Graduate and Undergraduate levels). The video consists of the usage of three emoticons on a dustbin that represent a happy dustbin(green)-if trashed right, a sad dustbin(red)-if trashed wrong and a lame dustbin-for those who trashed waste in he mixed dustbin and did not take action about it. It was observed that while most people in the N5 campus were aware of waste segregation, the scenario was starkly different in N3 campus where in the management and the students were caught trashing the wrong way. At the end of the video, we happened to intervene and question the maintenance worker about why she trashed the waste in the wrong way. Ans: There is no plastic bag in the waste so used other bin.
