Ultimaker Brandbook artwork.
Ultimaker creates 3D printers which are easy to use for everyone. We’ve been asked to design elements for the Ultimaker brandbook to inspire architects, designers and engineers.
Ultimaker created really powerful quotes which they use in there communication. Our challenge was to make those quotes in 3D to create an awesome playful visual in addition to the corporate identity of Ultimaker.
First of all we created the artwork in Adobe illustrator, after some finetuning we (and our client) were really happy with the result. At that point the we started to play with the Ultimaker. In a really short time we created many visuals and the Ultimaker became known for us. One of the visuals we created was the 6 layered chapter “6”. We saw each layer as an experiment with a different structure and pattern. The experiments we did with the Ultimaker sometimes failed, but lots came out really surprising. Because using the Ultimaker was new for us, we thought it would be fun to bring our process in picture and film.
