I bought in to the Dropcams early on. We got one to use as a baby monitor and I really liked it. It was nice getting a video monitor that could be used for something else without being limited to the task of baby monitor. I like that I can see and talk to my kids when I'm at the office. I like a lot of things about it.
When we got a second camera, I liked that the original dropcam iPad app had nice large previews of the video so I could easily monitor all of the rooms at once, then only zoom in when my attention was needed in one room. Then the merge with Nest. Then a terrible UX was generated and an even worse UI was implemented.
After stewing on this for a while, I decided at very least - instead of just complaining - I could show a fix. It's just one screen right now, and while it's not perfect or what I would call "final," it is better. But, Nest set that bar low.
