The typeface Tiboro was designed as one of four in a collectors DVD series called Digitype. The DVDs in the series were documentaries on lives of the four typographers Neville Brody, David Carson, Ed Fella, and Tibor Kalman. Each of the typefaces in this series were deisgned based on one of the works of the typographers.

The typeface Tiboro was inspired by Tibor Kalman. The typeface design was inspired by Tibor Kalam’s, “Talking Head,” album cover. The cove uses a new technique of pixilation over imagery with basic Sans-serif typography. The typeface Tiboro uses this pixilation aethetic with a Sans-serif typface. The final form uses the pixilation as serifs in smaller scales.
The typeface Tiboro was designed for the DVD case and for digital and print production. The full typographic specimen and the process will be available in “Vote Tiboro,” in January 2016. The typeface Tiboro will be available for digital download on January 28, 2016. Thanks for looking!
