Giardini e No, by Umberto Pasti
Bachelor Degree thesis project: design of a visual book.
A visual book offers the reader an amplified reading experience.
The book of my project was “Giardini e no” by Umberto Pasti, an ironic narration about gardens and their gardeners and the somewhat forced relationship between humans and nature in these gardens.
The main and common trait among the decriptions of these gardeners was the strong and ironic social criticism.
Together with these critics, the poor identity of each garden and the low interaction with the book, I decided to amplify all the particular characteristic of every garden and gardeners described in each chapter.
Through papers and materials, I made hard to read on purpose (althought not in a permanent way), making real the annoyance of each gardeners and creating a more and sensorial identity for each garden described.
