Havana Olympics Branding

This is part of university set brief which required me to create an olympic branding, which could then be carried over onto other items, e.g.: a games system, along with tickets, pictograms, stamps, advertisements and car & plane livery
‘Music is the most popular expression of culture in Cuba’ is what inspired my logo. Dance and Music is a big part of Cuba’s culture and are known for their carnivals. My logo is the shape of a hat that dancers commonly wear in the Carnivals. I decided to use shapes to show the movement of dance and chose the colours due to the houses in Cuba being brightly coloured.
For my pictograms I wanted to show the idea of movement and flow by having the background look slightly fluent, this also linked into the idea of movement and flow in dance and music. I decided to use the same colours used in the logo as colours for the background of the pictograms to create a sense of continuity.
For my tickets I used shapes from the logo and added some more to continue the flow of the design from the logo into other elements of the project. The colours of the tickets link to the colours of the original pictograms. I created a pattern to be featured in the background of the ticket to give depth to the ticket.
On the plane livery I created similar shapes used on the logo and other elements and  featured them in place on the mode transport with the Olympic logo clearly visible.
